Our Design-Build Process

Initial Consultation

The process begins with a conversation. We take time to understand your goals, your home, and the reason behind the project, whether it’s a planned remodel or a restoration need. This initial discussion helps us determine scope, timing, and general budget alignment before moving forward. It also gives you a chance to ask questions and understand how we work. The goal is to ensure we’re a good fit before either side commits further.

Site Visit & Project Evaluation

After the initial conversation, we schedule an on-site visit to review existing conditions and gather the details needed to move forward responsibly. We assess the space, discuss options, and identify any constraints that could impact scope or cost. For restoration projects, this step includes documenting damage and discussing next steps related to repairs. This phase allows us to move from general ideas to informed planning.

Planning & Scope Development

Once the site visit is complete, we begin outlining the project scope. This includes defining the work involved, identifying material selections where possible, and clarifying expectations around timeline and budget. While we are not a full in-house design firm, we guide clients through selections using samples, references, and practical recommendations. Clear scope at this stage helps avoid confusion later in the project.

Estimating & Proposal Review

With a defined scope, we prepare a detailed estimate and review it with you. We walk through the proposal line by line so you understand what’s included and why. This is a collaborative step where questions are encouraged and adjustments can be discussed before moving into construction. Our goal is alignment, not pressure, so everyone is confident before work begins.

Scheduling & Pre-Construction Preparation

After approval, we finalize scheduling and prepare for construction. This includes coordinating crews, ordering materials, and setting expectations around site access and communication. We make sure you know what to expect before work starts, including how updates will be shared throughout the project. A strong pre-construction phase helps keep projects moving smoothly once work begins.

Construction & Ongoing Communication

During construction, our focus is on quality workmanship and consistent communication. We manage the day-to-day details while keeping you informed on progress, schedule, and any necessary adjustments. If unexpected conditions arise, we address them directly and clearly. Our clients appreciate knowing where things stand without having to chase updates.

Final Walkthrough & Project Closeout

Once construction is complete, we walk the project with you to confirm everything meets expectations. Any final touch-ups are addressed, and we review care or maintenance considerations as needed. Our goal is to leave you with a finished space that feels complete and well-executed. The relationship doesn’t end at completion; we aim to be a long-term resource for future projects.
